As it was from cask this is more restrained than usual and it requires aggressive swirling to coax the pure and spicy essence of red berry fruit aromas to emerge from the glass where there is a slight hint of herbal tea present

but also has more charm than most

slightly reduced and a little bit spirity suggesting insufficient fruit concentration for the weight of oak influence

There is just enough reduction present to make the nose difficult to assess but the underlying fruit does appear to be fully ripe
